Received this e-mail from Governor Maggie Hassan (D. NH) who is campaigning to help Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D. PA-13) become the first female Governor of Pennsylvania:
While many of you have known Allyson for years, she and I have just become close in sharing a similar commitment to service and a love of our home states.
Last year, I was honored to be elected as New Hampshire’s 81st Governor, and at that time I also became the nation’s ONLY Democratic female Governor - a distinction I wish I didn't hold. More states should have Democratic Governors.
Next year, you have the opportunity to elect another great Democratic woman to serve as your Governor of Pennsylvania.
I could not be more enthusiastic to join my friends at EMILY’s List and thousands of Pennsylvanians like you who are ready for Allyson to bring much needed change to Harrisburg:

As Governor of New Hampshire, I know Allyson has all the qualities Pennsylvania needs in your new governor: vision, determination and the ability to work with anyone who shares her commitment to moving Pennsylvania forward.
Allyson has my full support, and I am sorry I cannot be with you on Monday, June 10th for her annual Women in Politics Event --- but I am 100% behind her and you can stand with her too by participating in this reception. Click here to send your RSVP – and tell her I sent you!

Allyson has spent her life fighting for the policies that have changed the lives of Pennsylvanians and Americans – and as a friend from up North - I am grateful for her leadership and excited for her candidacy.
Help me lose my title of the ONLY Democratic Female Governor and join Allyson’s campaign today!
With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
Governor State of New Hampshire
P.S. Even if, like me, you can't be there in person on Monday, please consider a contribution to her campaign for Governor today!

By the way, the latest Quinnipac Poll shows Schwartz still beating Governor Tom Corbett (R. PA):
http://www.quinnipiac.edu/...
With the Pennsylvania governor's race still more than one year away, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz leads the a pack of largely unknown Democratic challengers and tops Republican Gov. Tom Corbett 45 - 35 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
In another possible general election matchup, State Treasurer Rob McCord tops Corbett 43 - 35 percent.
In an even longer look at the 2016 presidential campaign, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of neighboring New York tops former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, the native son, 53 - 36 percent, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.
U.S. Rep. Schwartz leads the Democratic primary field with 18 percent, while no other contender tops 5 percent, with 63 percent undecided.
Facing Gov. Corbett, she leads 51 - 28 percent among women. Men are divided with 42 percent for Corbett and 39 percent for Schwartz. She takes Democrats 86 - 5 percent and independent voters 36 - 29 percent, while Republicans go to Corbett 75 - 7 percent. Schwartz leads in most areas of the state, while Corbett leads in central Pennsylvania.
"Already unpopular with Pennsylvania women, Gov. Tom Corbett trails the leading female challenger, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, and State Treasurer Rob McCord," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "Election Day is 17 months away, but Schwartz is in a strong position to become Pennsylvania's first female Governor."
Pennsylvania voters say 52 - 32 percent that Corbett does not deserve to be reelected. Women turn thumbs down 55 - 27 percent, as men say no 49 - 38 percent.
Voters disapprove 48 - 35 percent of the job Corbett is doing, close to his all-time low of 50 - 35 percent in a June 27, 2012, Quinnipiac University survey. Women disapprove 52 - 30 percent, while men disapprove 45 - 41 percent.
Corbett gets a negative 30 - 42 percent favorability rating, with 25 percent who don't know enough about him to form an opinion.
For Schwartz, 72 percent don't know enough to form an opinion. For McCord, 85 percent don't know enough. - Quinnipac, 6/7/13
And with this latest news, it's no mystery why Corbett is especially unpopular with female voters:

Women in Pennsylvania will have the right to choose insurance through the state health exchange, but it won’t extend to abortion.
NO CHOICE: Under HB818, private insurers cannot offer plans that include abortion coverage on the state health exchange.
The state Senate on Wednesday voted 31-19 to approve House Bill 818, which prohibits insurance policies offered through Pennsylvania’s upcoming health-care insurance exchanges from offering abortion coverage. The bill, which already passed in the House, goes to Gov.Corbett.
Christine Cronkright, a spokeswoman for Corbett, said the governor will sign the bill.
In an email, Cronkright said the bill would not “place any greater restrictions” on access-to-care for abortion. Abortions will still be allowed in cases of rape, incest or if the life of the mother is at risk.
However, the ban also extends to plans sold by private insurers issued without federal subsidy.
The bill was written in response to the emergence of state health exchanges created by the Affordable Care Act.
Under Obamacare, states may create their own exchanges or opt for a federal government-run exchange.
Corbett has chosen not to establish a state-run exchange. - PA Independent, 6/6/13
2014 couldn't come any sooner to help get rid of this loyal foot soldier in the War On Women.
