Apparently, there is at least one teacher who believes the NRA's rhetoric that students would be safer if teachers were armed. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Ned Carter Walker, a teacher at Farb Middle School in San Diego, has pled guilty to possessing a firearm.
Apparently someone tipped off the school police that Walker had possession of weapons in his classroom. Walker was then arrested in the school parking lot. When he was arrested, Walker had a loaded semiautomatic gun and a knife with a 2 1/2 inch blade on his person.
Now that he has pled guilty, Walker will probably lose his job. He has been on administrative leave since being arrested. Walker could be sentenced to up to five years in prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 12th.
Walker's excuse for endangering his students and others at the school by bringing a semiautomatic weapon to school was that
he brought the licensed and loaded gun to protect himself in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting in December.

I don't see in any of the articles where Walker even considered what would have happened if several large middle school students tried to overpower him and take his weapon.
Fortunately, he was arrested before the students and staff at Farb Middle School had the opportunity to find out.
