Six months ago, we lost Daily Kos diarist and friend, Richard Myers.
His light shines brightly still. Much of Richard's stories on IWW/Union Workers, Rush Limbaugh/Hate Radio, Women's Rights, Human Rights, and his talented graphic artwork are archived and respected here, http://www.dailykos.com/... and around the world. Richard had a fearless and relentless drive and quest for truth and goodness. And it was his kind, vulnerable, and loving demeanor that many will remember most about him.
Richard is the reason I began writing Daily Kos diaries, and one of the main reasons I continue working with the various Boycott Rush Limbaugh/StopRush groups. In all honesty, it gets discouraging on some days, even with the incredible progress we've made. On those days when I get a good case of the 'f-ck its', I remember Richard saying, "This isn't a sprint. It's marathon." I smile and march on. I am grateful to have known him. His work inspired me then, and his legacy inspires me now.
I know many here feel the same. This is one small way to honor him and send thoughts and prayers to his family and loved ones.
We Miss You Richard Myers. We Are Finishing This. Rest In Peace.
