The most recent stats analysis published on SCOTUSblog shows rays of hope for reversing the US Supreme Court's conservative trend for the past decade plus.

The liberal block of justices (Kagan, Sotomayor, Ginsberg, and Breyer) plus Justice Kennedy have been in the majority this term in better than 87% of the decisions as of June 12, 2013. The conservative Block of Roberts, Scalia, Alito and Thomas has lagged behind them.
Ginsberg and Breyer, who were in the majority an average of only 75% of the time (Ginsberg was in majority about 73% and Breyer about 77% of the time) over the past 5 SCOTUS terms from 2007 to 2012 , were in the majority 89% of the decisions this term.
And with this increase in majority representation for the liberal block has been a concomitant drop in the conservative wing's representative in majority opinions.
The statistics are even better in the always loathed divided Court opinions. Scalia, Alito and Thomas were in the majority of five Justices about 50% of the time this term. The liberal wing really moved up in majorities of divided Court decisions. And the irritatingly "moderate" Kennedy fell back substantially from an average of more than 85% of 5-4 decisions over the past 5 SCOTUS terms to a mere 77% this term.
I will be studying the trends of this SCOTUS terms in more detail but two things are clear. First, the importance of keeping control of the White House past January 20, 2017 is critical. Second, filibuster reform is critical to stopping judicial nominees from being blocked.
