This will be very much like peregrine kate's Detroit meet-up diary. I know it's time for our monthly meetup and I'd very much like to have one. I'm stuck on a venue.

I know there's sentiment for events like the SF Kossacks have, and I'm still working on that idea, but I don't think we'll have the correct weather in mid-July. I also know that the NY Kossacks have picked out a favorite centrally-located restaurant that they have their meetups at. We HAD one, but it had some issues, and now is a good time to explore further options. We also need a better way to communicate things.

More below the Great Orange wristband.

Two issues:

Venues: We've been to North Hollywood (and there's more to explore near the Red Line station) and we've been to Pasadena.

I'd like to do something for the Kossacks on the Westside, understanding that such an enterprise might involve a bus from one of the Red Line stations for several of you, but I don't have any favorite places in West Hollywood any more and I'm wondering if any of you have any favorites there or beyond. Suggestions?

Communication: Since the cat-herding enterprise has shown that even following the group might not result in timely notification, susans took it upon herself to ask for email addresses so we could set up something, probably a google+ group as navajo suggested in today's New Day diary. I figure that the Diva asking might mean more than the LA Kossacks asking, so this is another request. IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THE GROUP, OR LOOK AT YOUR STREAM, OR PROVIDE AN EMAIL ADDRESS, DON'T COMPLAIN IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT AN EVENT.

Yes, that's an issue. I'd like to announce the venue by Friday to give you all a week to prepare, and I'll be monitoring the comments and my Kosmail faithfully. Thanks for your help and your input.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
