OMG, is she serious?

Sarah Palin has kicked off what could be a whole year of speculation over whether she'll comeback from her political retirement. Palin said she's considering running for senate in Alaska on Tuesday. On his radio show, Sean Hannity asked the Fox pundit if she might run. Palin responded, "I’ve considered it because people have requested me considering it, but I’m still waiting to see what the lineup will be and hoping that, there again, there will be some new blood, new energy, not just kind of picking from the same old politicians in the state..." She said the current occupant of that seat, Democratic Sen. Mark Begich, "has got to be replaced." She also criticized Republicans who are "capitulating" to President Obama. - The Atlantic, 7/9/13
Why the change of heart? Because Republican pollster Harper Polling, showed her leading Lt. Governor Mead Treadwell (R. AK) and Tea Party Wild Card Joe Miller (R. AK):

But PPP painted a better and more accurate picture of how Palin would do in the primary and head to head with Begich:
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/...
In hypothetical head to heads Begich leads Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan 47/41, Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell 47/39, former Lieutenant Governor Loren Leman 50/40, former Governor Sarah Palin 54/38, and 2010 nominee Joe Miller 58/30. Palin's numbers are a reflection of her continuing to be very unpopular on the home front- 34% of voters see her positively to 59% with a negative opinion. She looks popular by comparison to Miller though- he has only a 20% favorability rating with 63% of voters giving him poor marks. - PPP, 2/7/13
Still, if Palin were the nominee, I would blame Begich and Alaska Democrats for taking her seriously as a candidate. Begich is one hell of a campaigner and fundraiser and he has my dedicated support for 2014. Plus if Palin were to jump in an already competitive primary between Miller and Treadwell, Begich could still benefit:

Infighting has rocked the state GOP over the past year. First, Ron Paul supporters took control of the organization, with a huge showing at the state convention. Then, establishment-backed Republicans ousted the chairman and vice chairman amid accusations of anemic fundraising.
The state's new GOP chairman, Peter Goldberg, says the turmoil is "behind us now." But he also acknowledges that the party is expecting a primary fight as it searches for a strong challenger to take on Begich, and he expresses confidence that Republicans will rally around their eventual nominee.
The question is who will it be?
Republican Gov. Sean Parnell has decided to seek re-election rather than run for the Senate. And it seems highly unlikely that the state's most high-profile Republican, 2008 vice presidential candidate and former Gov. Sarah Palin, who resigned during her first term, will acquiesce to the demands of a national conservative group that wants her to run. She recently returned to Fox News as a paid commentator.
That leaves Republicans with two candidates so far, neither of whom Republicans in Washington think are ideal.
Joe Miller is running. Fueled by the tea party, he won the 2010 GOP primary against Sen. Lisa Murkowski only to lose to her in the general election as she mounted a historic write-in campaign. He faces a challenge from Lt. Gov. Mead Treadwell, who is not well-known among voters in the state. A heated primary is expected. - NPR, 7/5/13
Republicans are eager to take out Begich but the GOP can be it's own worst enemy. Palin is a prime example of that. Still though, it's important that Begich has our support. You may not agree with all his votes but when it comes to Social Security, civil liberties, GMO labels and Wall Street accountability, he's one of the good guys. If you would like to donate or get involved with Begich's campaign, you can do so here:

P.S. pipsorcle provided this great video of Jesse Ventura on Sarah Palin that's worth watching:
