Teresa Heinz Kerry was flown to Mass General Hospital after she suffered seizure-like symptoms on Sunday. Doctors have ruled out a brain tumor, stroke, or heart attack and her condition has been upgraded.
Prior to his opening remarks at the China Strategic and Economic Dialogue Kerry gave thanks for well wishers' support:
Kerry choked back tears and briefly paused while trying to collect himself and offer thanks for the "remarkable outpouring of good wishes" ahead of his opening remarks at the China Strategic and Economic Dialogue being held this week in Washington.
"I'm humbled by the expressions of support and know that, when she is able, she will thank everybody herself."
The family was "deeply grateful" that doctors had, so far, ruled out a brain tumor, stroke or heart attack as possible causes of the seizure-like symptoms she experienced, a Kerry spokesman said Tuesday.
Swift medical attention may likely have saved Heinz Kerry's life, and the family is very lucky to have all the above possibilities ruled out. Such life saving medical care should be available to everyone/
