First we had Putin trying to give us lessons, we now have John McCain telling Putin what for.
It would be funny, if it wasn't so damn sad.
Let's face it since WWII both of these powers have been throwing their weight around for purely nationalistic benefit.
The cold war now seems to have been reduced to; whose white hat has the least blood upon it, and who is not quite as nasty to minorities as the other.
Then John McCain starts talking about gay rights, hasn't he looked at his own damn party and some of the crazies that reside within? Hasn't he even seen his own party's relentless war on women? Hasn't he seen his own party's voter suppression drive?
As for enhancing reputation abroad, can't he even remember as far back as Bush II when his party was last in charge and it's neo-con adventurism? Has he forgotten that the only way we could clean our conscience was to try and forget what we had done and move on?
From both these dinosaurs stuck in a bipolar world this bout mudslinging is somewhat rich:
Russia good America bad.
America good Russia bad.
.
Perhaps in their own narrow world view this might make sense, however, for those that have been at the other end of their blather this purity trolling is just plain hilarious.
Before either side starts mudslinging perhaps an analysis should be done of the results of each countries economic, political, and military imperatives before anyone can crow and claim moral victories.
If McCain wants to talk about racism, sexism and bigotry perhaps he should write an editorial to his own party? There is a chance that one of his own party's loonies will be the President of the only super-power left, and that idea causes many of us [Americans] nightmares.
