Idiocy is pretty much standard operating procedure on wingnut talk radio. But Alex Jones, the host of "Infowars," crossed a line on Monday when he and Jerome Corsi suggested that President Obama was somehow complicit in the terrorist attack on Nairobi's Westgate Mall. So it's time to put the heat on his advertisers, both local and national, to dump him.
For those who missed it, Corsi claimed that the attack was part of an elaborate conspiracy between Obama, former Kenyan prime minister Raila Odinga and radical Islamists in Kenya to allow members of al-Shabaab, the Somali chapter of al-Qaeda, to enter Kenya. Jones chimed in by saying that the attack was part of a proxy war to help radical Islamists overrun north Africa. Watch the whole piece here, and pile up the dislikes.
There is no credible evidence whatsoever to support that Obama had anything to do with this attack. Moreover, the numerous claims that he and Odinga are in bed with each other have been debunked several times over.
I wonder--what would Jones' advertisers think if they knew their ads were running on a show that was peddling baseless claims that the president of the United States was complicit in mass murder? Might be time to find out. Check out a list of Jones' affiliates here. Apparently not all of them run his show in pattern, based on a check of some of his affiliates' schedules. If you live in any of Jones' markets, find out when he airs, take note of who advertises on his show, and put the heat on them to drop their ads. This sort of claptrap has no place in civilized political discourse.
