How dare you! How dare you! We need to get the government shutdown bill so I continue to get campaign contributions!
Darrell Issa doesn't seem to be doing so great this weekend. Not surprisingly, he, like many other Republicans in the House of Representatives are going through a panic period where they are trying everything they can to see about prevent a government shutdown.
Of course, we know they just can't stand the Affordable Health Care Act and that's why there's a looming government shutdown.
Still, this situation appears to be putting Congressman Issa in a tense situation to the point where he blows up at a reporter for even asking the "what if" question if say a government shutdown does happen.
Here Issa, who looks like he hasn't gotten the best of sleep, starts snapping (moment comes at 0:54 point in video):

"How dare you presume a failure? How dare you? How dare you? How dare you presume a failure?" Issa asked, his voice rising with each question.
"The fact is, this country is based on people saying they won't do things, and at the end of the day, coming together to compromise. We continue to anticipate that there's an opportunity for sensible compromise," he added.
"I will not accept from anybody the assumption that we'll have failure."
I hate to break it to you Mr. Issa, but with the way it looks right now, you and your Republican colleagues are going to have failure.
Besides, based on Issa's Twitter feed, his Tweets are more about Obamacare than preventing a government shutdown so you can definitely tell he REALLY wants to work with Democrats.
Just one problem with Congressman Issa's Tweets. They are done at a point where we're talking about a government shutdown, not about making the Affordable Healthcare Act better, stronger or healthcare in general better for the American people.
If Issa truly believes we should be discussing the problems in healthcare or in Obamacare and starting a discussion now as a government shutdown is eminent, he's certainly picked a GREAT opportunity to have a discussion!
And besides, in the Tweet where Issa mentions "Sry got ahead of myself, mistyped Sunday meant Saturday." Well, you also mistyped (or should I say mispelled) "Sorry" as "Sry."
Come on Issa, I know this is Twitter but come on man, you're a Congressman. Do you need a vacation at one of the X2 Samui Resorts in Thailand? I hear those are very good for the senses and a great way to tranquilize. Check them out!

Anyhow, there is a new Democratic challenger to Darrell Issa in California's 49th Congressional District. His name is Dave Peiser, an Encinitas-based IT consultant and while it appears he's still getting his campaign together (no news to report at this moment other than Peiser's campaign website), it doesn't hurt to e-mail him and/or his campaign, start getting involved and firing up the base.
Here's Peiser's information.

The website still needs more updating and we still need to know where Peiser stands.
At best, keep Mr. Peiser's information handy and forward it to as many people as you know to monitor the campaign. Should there be another Democratic candidate emerging, I will keep you guys informed as well.
However, if you want, you can also harass the San Diego County Democratic Party to mount a Democratic candidate on their own ASAP, the more the merrier!

9:10 PM PT: Anyone remember Darrell Issa back in 2003 when he was too scared to run against Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Watch Issa snob (at the 01:25 point of the video) after dropping out of the 2003 California Gubernatorial Race which he bankrolled not too long after entering it. Unbelievable.
