Sometimes you just cannot stand it anymore. After finishing a medical appointment at the VA I was leaving when I was walking through a waiting room and the President was on the TV doing his press conference. Two right wing lunatics in their 40's were making ugly noises at the TV. It was something in their smug, retarded racist attitude that set me off and the next thing you know I went ballistic. I basically said they were too retarded to understand the issues involved and went into the issues a bit and finally ended with my opinion that anyone who votes for the cancer that is a Republican is the only real problem this country has and if you voted for George W Bush it is now your patriotic duty to never talk politics and certainly never vote again for the good of the country. I very seldom get this way and it takes a lot to set me off but when it happens bullies and assholes do not fuck with me. I got my self control back, apologized to the other people in the waiting room, turned heel and left.
I simply do not understand why a 19 year old pregnant woman has difficulty getting needed healthcare but a over the hill 63 year old retired truck driver gets some of the best medical care in the country just because he served some time in Vietnam. I do not understand why anyone in this country has to sit and watch their neighbors suffer, die and go bankrupt needlessly. I do not understand why so few in this country are not outraged over the fact we spend more than any other country on healthcare but has a system seemingly designed to create suffering, premature death and drive people into poverty for the crime of getting sick.
Anger just means you are not getting what you want. It is true. I want to live in a country where the healthcare system is efficient and is open to everyone. I want to live in a country where compassion and empathy for a large part of its population are not just words in the dictionary.
