You really have to wonder sometimes how clueless people can be. Tea Party activist Rick Scarborough thinks thinks it would be a terrific idea to file a class action lawsuit against homosexuality, just as numerous state attorneys general filed suit against tobacco companies back in the 90's. And the equally enlightened Peter LaBarbera (affectionately known as "Porno Pete" for his tendency to attend edgy events like the Folsom Street Fair and take pictures--including some of my partner--engaged in outrageous activities, just, of course, so he can be outraged by them) thinks this would be a good idea too. They seem to feel as though they have a case since, in their view, "even" the CDC "says" that homosexuality leads to AIDS. (Note: Someone needs to direct them to the world-wide statics on HIV and AIDS, wherein they might discover that the overwhelming majority of HIV infections in the world are caused by heterosexual activity).
Words just fail sometimes. Now who, exactly, might be the person or persons against whom such a suit would be brought? Corporations are people, at least according to the Supreme Court, but at least the last time I checked, people were NOT corporations. Or do they intend (as David Badash of The New Civil Rights Movement" suggests) to go after the manufacturer of homosexuals?
I suppose that if they're successful they'll began litigating against left-handedness and brown eyes.
