A new poll, released today, by Quinnipiac, shows Mcauliffe with a four-point lead over Cuccinelli. The poll shows a 45 - 41 lead, with 9 percent for Libertarian Party candidate Robert Sarvis.
Last week, Quinnipiac had McAuliffe up 46 - 39 percent, with Sarvis at 10 percent
This poll seems to be a bit of an outlier, as just yesterday the Washington Post released their final poll of the race, which showed McAuliffe opening up a 12-point lead against Cuccinelli (51-39), compared to an 8 point lead (47-39) a week previously.
UPDATED: Roanoke College also released a poll today, showing trends in the opposite direction:
Democrat Terry McAuliffe has opened a 15-point lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli (46%-31%), while 14 percent of likely voters in Virginia remain undecided in the 2013 Gubernatorial election, according to The Roanoke College Poll. Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis claimed 9 percent of respondents.
Interesting

Their breakdowns (but not crosstabs!) are here (pdf):
Check this one out:
4.b. [IF CUCCINELLI] Would you say that your vote for Cuccinelli is more of a vote for
him or a vote against McAuliffe?
For Cuccinelli 58%

Unsure/No answer 1%
4.c. [IF MCAULIFFE] Would you say that your vote for McAuliffe is more of a vote for
him or a vote against Cuccinelli?
For McAuliffe 40%
Against Cuccinelli 44%

In my mind, this tends to support my dissent against kos's post that McAuliffe is winning more because of the extremism of Cooch than because of the solid liberal stance McAuliffe is taking.
