With the recent implementation and roll out of the ACA, the wingnuts are in full entitlement mode, claiming the law infringes on their liberties. Let's just call it what it really is: Privilege. They can't stand the fact that people other than themselves are starting to gain access to privileges they've always had for simply being born into the right circumstances.

This can be said for virtually every social gain in American history from the Bill of Rights to the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts. They've fought every bit of progress made, especially in the last century, and when it comes to economic issues at least, they've succeeded in dragging us back to the roaring 20s kicking and screaming with the past three decades of organized theft.

The other reason they're against that progress is also a simple one: They've never had to deal with the shit that we have. Of course, the reality of it all differs from person to person, but it's clear that anytime we want to make our lives a bit more bearable, you can bet your ass that the wingnuts will be in full force to make sure it never happens.

The defenders of privilege will do all they can to keep all they've stolen, even if it means destroying the very country they claim they love in the process.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I write a series called 'My Life as an Aspie', documenting my experiences before and after my A.S. diagnosis as a way to help fellow Aspies and parents of Aspies and spread awareness. If I help just one person by doing this, then I've served a purpose.

sound same life, privilege, and pursuit of happiness. Privilege does not provide happiness and a good life, but liberty is essential to happiness. Happiness is not encumbered by privilege or lack thereof.

in the constitution. The whole damn thing was enshrined for the sake of the wealthy plutocrats. The bill of rights was just a bone thrown at the masses to shut them up. Of course, if the ever so glorified founders had it there way, we wouldn't have that either.
