Yes, that's the way he was described in an intro to the segment done on ABCs This Week (one of the Sunday Gab Fests). Of course, he's out not just fundraising, but shilling his new tome of lies, a book called "Unintimidated".
In the clearly fluff interview, Walker takes swings at protesters and Democrats, but tries to sell himself as a moderate. Of course, this is a man who wants to be President and saw 2 of the latest Republicans go down to defeat as they were dragged ever more to the right by the extremist base of the GOP. The 2016 "ideal candidate" Walker describes sounds exactly like .... Scott Walker.
He promotes an "outsider" as the ideal Republican Presidential candidate (yup, there's Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz all nicely tucked under the bus in one sentence), should be "a Governor or former Governor" (bye bye anyone in Washington), should have taken on what he calls "successful reforms" (that would seem to leave him out, but, in his own mind as well as his propagandists, he believes he's a total success in Wisconsin).
The Big News That Could Turn Around and Bite Him in the Butt
Once again Scott Walker is saying that he won't commit to serving a full second term if he's re-elected. The last time words like that fell out of his mouth he had to walk them back pronto. Yeah, Wisconsinites didn't take too well to a guy who was ready to blow them off the minute he was re-elected to focus on Presidential ambitions.
The clock is now ticking on him walking that back again.
Naturally, Wisconsinites who weren't watching the Sunday Talk Show know nothing about it. The only reporting was in an online news blog and not in the regular news that people read, see or hear.
So maybe he won't have to walk that back again and, if the question gets asked again he can simply answer that he's already answered that question and pivot to a more self-serving talking point on another issue.
Walkers entire career has been built on using each elected office as a stepping stone to the next, higher position. He carpetbagged his way into our State Legislature when a seat became available and used that position to gather supporters and wait for the next opportunity to become available. And the position of Milwaukee County Executive became available because of a recall over a pension deal that made voters angry.
He used the County Executive position for 2 terms to travel the state to promote himself, gather statewide support and run for Governor. Now he's using the Governors office to travel around the country (and hide his actual schedule that would show how little time he actually spends in the state), gather supporters and donors, to ready his run for the next office.
Don't dismiss Scott Walker. He's dumb as a pile of rocks, but he uses every available brain cell to his political advantage. He's a skilled politician who never gets rattled, spews out talking points with an greasy slickness that any snake oil salesman would envy, and answers uncomfortable questions with a meme or talking point on an entirely different subject.
A national "outing" would be a good thing since state and local press in Wisconsin have been his lapdogs eagerly lapping up his talking points, promoting his propaganda, and hiding his failures. But I don't want that at the expense of seeing this Koch-tool potentially occupying the Oval Office.
Watch his face when he talks. Those dead eyes and lack of facial expression speak volumes about the "real" Scott Walker. I used to work for this clown and it wasn't pretty.
So I watch and I wait. I inform others. Good thing I'm retired.
