I ran across this informationon Raw Story. Seems that Paul (Rand, not Ru) is spearheading the GOP outreach to the Black community. He will travel safely away from his own constituency to deliver this good news in Detroit.
Although I am not a constituent, I took a few microseconds to find the senator's contact information via Google (tm), and I gave his DC office a call.
I spoke politely to the staffer, and gave him this message to pass along to the Boss, (Rand, not Bruce): If Mr. Paul does not address the efforts by Republican dominated states to suppress the Black vote through bogus "voter ID" laws, then he will be wasting his time traveling to Detroit.
It's a litmus test. if you like voter ID, you don't like Black voters, and they know it. If you don't address this subject as the primary concern the Black community has about Republican party, you are not serious.
Anyone else reading this can find the good senator's contact info in short order. I urge any here who are constituents, especially Black constituents, to do a Google (tm) search for that DC or local phone number, and gently remind Dr. Paul that if he does not acknowledge voter ID as the major issue between Black voters and the GOP, don't waste the breath or strain your arm by "reaching out."
