You may recall I was hyper critical of the initial roll of healthcare.gov. I first tried to enroll on Oct 2nd. It was a disaster. I said so. It wasn't appropriately tested. A lot of harm was caused. But enough of that.
About a month later, I phoned in an application. I didn't hear anything for weeks so I called again and was told there was an "error." And that I should wait a little longer. I decided against that advice.
Today, I started a new application from scratch (using a different email account). Guess what? IT WORKED! At least I think it worked. There was a little glitch right at the end of the process. The final accepted screen from Humana was blank. But I did get an email from Humana advising me I was enrolled and would get information in a few weeks. Awesome!
Also, it wouldn't let me go to the next step to purchase the dental plan that I selected. No biggie. I can add that later, I suppose.
I was able to get a decent Gold plan for just under $200.00 per month. My cobra plan was costing me almost 800.00 per month. Fingers crossed that all is well.
A few suggestions, if you are using Firefox, be sure to disable pop-up stopper and ad-block.
Also, if you submitted an application early on, and you aren't certain anyone is working your account, I would start over from scratch.
Allow a couple hours for the process. Lots of information to digest, especially if you haven't compared plans.
I hope it continues to work well when volume rises. Good luck!
