Sequestration, a terrible idea that took a meataxe to the budget, across the board cuts to every part. Cuts so severe that no one in their right minds would try to implement such a terrible plan.
Problem is, the Congressional GOP is not in their right minds. So they pushed it through.
The only silver lining in this insanity was that for the first time, the Military budget was included with other discretionary spending, not held out as a sacred cow.
But wait.....
We now have two GOP (of course) House Members proposing that Social Security and MediCare be cut so that the Pentagon can be fully funded.

Reps. Jim Bridenstine (R-Okla.) and Doug Lamborn (R-Colo.)
are introducing the Provide for the Common Defense Act on Tuesday. The legislation would cancel out the next two years of sequestration cuts for the Pentagon by putting a heavier burden on senior citizens and federal workers.
