So here's a question for conservatives: Should states pass laws making it illegal for stores like Sam's Club or Costco to require consumers to be members in order to shop in their establishments? Most people would say no because the government shouldn't make it illegal for a business and its customers to form such a relationship.
But that's exactly the sort of relationship conservative activists seek to outlaw when they push right-to-work laws. And when you think about it in terms of "right-to-shop" laws, it's clear that their real agenda has nothing to do with freedom or free enterprise: It's simply about rigging the game and destroying unions.
