What are your top 5 favorite comedy movies of all time? From the classics of the Marx Brothers to the Modern movies of the Farley brothers, if you had to list your top 5 favorites could you do so?

That is your challenge, if you chose to accept it. I've made my selection below. I know it is tough, and I've not included all the movies that could have made the list. It was a very tough call to leave some off, but I am pretty confident in my choices.

How could I go wrong with Monty Python? Zero Mostel? Mel Brooks? Pee Wee Herman? Steve Martin?

So who makes your list?

My top 5 is

1. Pee Wee's Big Adventure
2. The Producers (1968)
3. A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum.
4. The Jerk
5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

So, who would you include? What would be your list? Your clips?

Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

The Producers

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

The Jerk

Monty Python & The Holy Grail

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
