The lawmakers, in their infinite wisdom and overflowing concern for the disadvantaged
among us, have their corporate sharpened talons poised to attack the Social Security
Disability Insurance and SSI programs with full righteous indignation next term for all
the "entitlement" seekers with mental, and musculoskeletal disorders. That's right.
They're pretty specific with their diagnostic protocols. [http://www.fas.org/...]
Apparently these two programs are bankrupt. (Also unconstitutional, un-American, and just not republican enough)
The target is for an incredible 68% decrease in current levels with future enrollment into
the system curtailed drastically. [http://www.fas.org/...]
When politicians have a mandate from their "constituency" along with motive, and
opportunity, we may witness a spectacular display of pseudo debate, but it's really just
semantics and theater. Actually, the details, the data, and the talking points, in most
cases, have already been assembled for executing their plans. Unfortunately
their "constituents" aren't us, and the motive is the old Washington staples of money,
power and influence.
The deed, as they say, is done. It's all over but the cryin'. After the machinations,
and manipulations are played to a slobbering, sycophantic corporate press, the
verdict will be a soundbite to a disingenuous, plastic impersonation of a journalist, and a
life altering, cruelty to hundreds of thousands of disabled Americans immediately, and
exponentially increasing to effect millions in the year to come.

The cold, methodical amputation of actual working programs of our government
[http://www.fas.org/...]
by the people we pay to speak for us is hard enough to believe, but when we're
inundated with the obvious rhetoric of pollsters, pundits, and personalities, then
medicated with the subliminal psychological therapies administered to us by the media,
we could easily resign our positions, float brainlessly into the abyss created by the p.r.
machines and let the Koch brothers date rape us on roofies. Then again, I see these
legislators pontificating the ethic of work, and how the SSDI, and SSI system
proliferates abuse, and taxes the able bodied young worker unfairly and exacerbates an
overburdened healthcare crisis. It might have some underlying validity if I didn't see
the solution to any budget shortfall for the system be poured religiously into a vacuous
black hole of military spending and foreign aid to political contributors masquerading as
countries. O.K. So there's good, substantive reason to be involved in the last great
hope for the incredible experiment that is America. If I needed any more justification I
just need to read the Disability, Retirement, and Health coverage for the people in
Washington we pay to speak for us.
