Sunday again! I don't know about you, but I'm having a lazy 3-day weekend.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
We have split up the publishing duties, but we welcome everyone in IAN to do daily diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
If you would like to fill in, either post in thread or send FloridaSNMom a Kosmail with the date. If you need someone to fill in, ditto. FSNMom is here on and off through the day usually from around 9:30 or 10 am eastern to around 11 pm eastern.
If you'd like to be part of the Itzl Alert Network, please leave a comment asking to join, or send us a message asking to join. We'd love to have you. The bigger our network, the less likely someone will be stranded all alone.
This one will be short, because there isn't much going on at the moment where I am.
I have been enjoying the diaries about the Christie/George Washington Bridge fiasco. Not the ones about what actually happened at the bridge (which added a huge amount of unneeded stress to the lives of a horrendous number of totally innocent people) - the ones about the digging into what brought it about and who did what to cause it, and what the fallout is being. The entertainment value of many of them is high, and the writing is often superb.
My Friday at work was fairly lazy. I only got about half the work done that I had intended to, and I can blame only about half of that on my ankle still being a bit wonky. Ah, well, Tuesday will come soon enough.
I woke up Saturday morning to find cat puke all over my hallway. This being the first time in more than two weeks, I didn't tell him I was going to kill him, but there were four rather large areas covered, and only one of them was still damp. I got that pretty much cleaned up and got out for my chiropractic appointment on time, but I forgot a couple of items I generally take for use there. My chiropractor is also a long-time friend and she laughed at me, but said she understood how cat puke could drive such non-essentials out of my head.
I did my payday grocery shopping after that and got home to find my screen door latched against me. Banging and yelling brought my granddaughter to open it and apologize - my daughter had the vacuum going and didn't hear a thing. They had some errands of their own to run so my daughter brought both kids over while I was gone and supervised the cleaning of the cat box and vacuumed my couch and those parts of the floor over which my cat most often scatters litter. I found myself wondering if, had I taken half an hour longer, she would have moved my furniture (a thing I have known her to).
Now I have to decide how badly I want another couple of wearable pairs of pants (one pair I finished, the material didn't stretch as much as advertised and I won't be able to wear those again until I lose some weight). Other than that, at least one load of laundry and some dishwashing and a shower.
I also have to work out and test an exercise routine that will give me a workout and won't screw up my ankle.
