Good Morning Kossacks and Welcome to Morning Open Thread (MOT)
We're known as the MOTley Crew and you can find us here every morning at 0330 am Eastern time. Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanently or just once in awhile. With the Auto Publish feature you can set it and forget it. Sometimes the diarist du jour shows up much later: that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Well last Monday's MOT taught us that a significant number of Motleys are on the wrong end of their personal Product Life Cycle (Not you JoF), so my thoughts turned to the negative aspects, and in particular increasing grumpiness. Now I can only speak from personal experience, but
as time goes by I do find myself becoming more grumpy, and whereas anti-depressants may chill you out a little, the objects of your grumpiness persist. So here are a few of things that make me grumpy.
Being unfriended by your daughters on facebook.
Seeing your stepdaughter's boyfriend wandering around the house with his jeans half way down his ass, showing his underwear
As above, but realising that it is your boxers he is wearing.
Being pleased when kids discover that you can put dirty dishes into the dishwasher, only to work out they think it is a one way journey.
People facebooking on smart phones during dinnner.
For an interesting deeper list, if you have 30 minutes to waste, here is a BBC program called "Grumpy Old Men" featuring amongst others Bill Nighy, Will Self and Michael Grade. It's alittle dated and focuses on technology.
So what makes you grumpy - tell us in the comments.
