Despite a poll sample that has a -4 net disapproval of President Obama (46-50), and thorough negative press coverage from Fox News (and other media outlets) on Hillary Clinton, with many of their commentators now repeating the mantra that she's not that formidable...She still commands large leads of registered voters.
Hillary Clinton in the state of Florida:
56 - 36 percent over Ryan;
57 - 31 percent over Cruz;
53 - 35 percent over Huckabee.
49 - 41 percent over Bush;
52 - 40 percent over Rubio;
55 - 37 percent over Paul;
52 - 34 percent over Christie;
From April 23 - 28, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,413 registered voters with a margin of error of +- 2.6 percentage points. The survey includes 494 Republicans and 501 Democrats, each with a margin of error of +- 4.4 percentage points
Quinnipiac is one of my favorite pollsters and they have a great track record
Beating Ted Cruz by almost 30 points! Beating Christie, Paul and Ryan by about 20 points!
Florida is key for one simple reason: In 2016, if all the Democratic candidate wins are states Democrats have won every single time for the past 25 years, then that candidate would only need Florida to lock up 270+.
Polls like these always put me in a good mood.
Can you imagine cuddling up on your couch with your favorites snacks the night of November 8th, 2016, and putting on Fox News? (DVR'ing it, of course, for watching it again and again) They are going to have a total meltdown that they lost big in another election, that they are going to have to rework the entire party, and learn to accept Obamacare.
I know some of you hate/strongly dislike Hillary*, but put that aside for a second and think how hilariously entertaining it would be to see the reactions from the conservative universe if Hillary actually won Florida by 20-30 points.
*which to be honest, I don't get since the only way it would really matter domestically is if we won 60+ Senate seats with progressives, and a large House majority that didn't need any moderates to pass legislation...aka it's not going to happen even in a landslide
