Yep, it is an American doomsday, as usual the rest of us don't matter.
I suppose NBC know their readership, if it had anything to do with foreigners well tough titties on them.
;-)
Wrap that doomsday in a flag and you get a real and proper end of times!
I am sort of torn by the headline, it's about time it was shouted from the roof tops but is Doomsday really the right word from the lexicon to use?
The other slight problem will be the politics because this is being published by the climate Nazis in the White House, because that is how the right will view it.
The report is far more sober in its title which can be found here
I suppose it is a strategy to make the report American Centric since anything that happens overseas is the Presidents fault anyway, and if it is not it has probably something to do with socialism anyway.
The title in the NYT is a bit more restrained: Climate Change Study Finds U.S. Is Already Widely Affected
Now the deniers will say without reading it that individual events don't matter as a bad interpretation of individual events don't necessarily represent a whole., as many scientists have stated. What the report does is show the whole picture of the individual events and their inter-relations.
I haven't personally found anything new in the report except that the position now is one of mitigation rather than avoidance, at least the reality is firmly stated.
The report is 840 pages long and is well worth a read as it really does do a fine job of bringing the data together. Now probably some wiseacre on the right will fire bullets at it saying something along the lines of "it's too hard to read"," too long" and "reading is fer sissies".
Oh wait
Perhaps NBC is right after all, dammit.
