Just when you thought that the fundamentalist God-botherers couldn't scrape any deeper in the crazy-barrel, along comes disgraced ex-Navy chaplain, Dr. Gordon Klingenschmitt. According to the not-at-all-deranged and totally sane chaplain:
...a shooting at a FedEx facility in Georgia earlier this month could have been avoided if the company had not violated biblical teachings by making the area a gun-free zone.
'Biblical teachings'? What Bible has the good doctor been reading? The totally balanced and rational chaplain went on to say:
“The only time the Bible talks about disarming the population were when the people were vulnerable to invasion!” the former Navy chaplain explained. “That’s why the Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment, because they recognized that the people ought to be safe and secure from invasion.”
“At least from without,” he opined. “That’s why Japan never invaded California because the Californians carried guns. But not anymore. They might be vulnerable to that."
Which would explain why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor: because there were no guns on Hawaii.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that (in addition to being dumber than a sack full of rocks) Dr.Klingenschmitt is a fan of Louis Gohmert. Call it a hunch.
