The Daily Bucket is a regular feature of the Backyard Science group. It is a place to note of any observations you have made of the world around you. Insects, weather, meteorites, climate, birds and/or flowers. All are worthy additions to the bucket. Please let us know what is going on around you in a comment. Include, as close as is comfortable for you, where you are located. Each note is a record that we can refer to in the future as we try to understand the patterns that are quietly unwinding around us.

Castro Valley, CA
Continued below the orange coprolite
This is just an empty bucket with no particular topic or focus. It is grey, overcast and a bit cool and damp in Castro Valley, CA, this morning. This echoes the past several, and it will almost certainly warm and even get somewhat hot as they did. There are a lot of bird noises indicative of hatchlings and nestlings, as well as a lot of overall avian activity right now, though nothing particularly novel. A lot of flowers and bumblebees but not too many butterflies. About half of my parsley is already going to seed, which is, I think, out of season, but it has been a strange year.
