We'll be bringing you the results as they come in.
Results: Alabama | California | Iowa | Mississippi | Montana | New Jersey | New Mexico | South Dakota
7:01 PM PT (David Nir): Polls are now closed in Iowa and Montana. Still lots of uncalled races out there.
7:04 PM PT (David Nir): One quirk about Iowa (as noted in the info box above) is that if no candidate clears 35% in a given race, the nomination gets thrown to a party convention. That's a very low threshold, but it's not inconceivable that we see this in IA-01 (D) or IA-03 (R).
7:07 PM PT (David Nir): AL-06 (R): As expected (based on the early returns), state Rep. Paul DeMarco will make the runoff, per the AP. He has 32% of the vote with 35% reporting. State Sen. Scott Beason is currently in second with 18%, but three other candidates remain bunched together right behind him.
7:12 PM PT (David Nir): MS-04 (R): The lead's been bouncing back and forth between Rep. Steven Palazzo and ex-Rep. Gene Taylor at a dizzying rate, but it's now 47-47 with Taylor just a couple hundred votes ahead and 63% counted. What makes this all the more remarkable is that Palazzo widely outraised Taylor, $678,000 to $251,000.
7:17 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): Thad Cochran remains just outside runoff territory, with a 51-48 lead on McDaniel. 65% is reporting now.
7:19 PM PT (David Jarman): MS-Sen: Let's drill down to the county level in Mississippi. A potential spot of good news for McDaniel is that the county with the most outstanding precincts is Rankin County, which prognosticators said was one of the counties he'd do well in, as it's the exurbs of Jackson. However ... of the 7 of 50 precincts that have reported in Rankin, Cochran is actually leading 52-47, so that may not be the bonanza McDaniel had in mind.
There are also a lot of precincts outstanding in Pontotoc and Itawamba Counties in the state's hilly northeast, another area where McDaniel was expected to do well ... but, again, Cochran is holding his own in the neighboring counties (like Tupelo's Lee County, where Cochran leads 57-42). Meanwhile, Cochran is doing well as expected in the Delta counties, most of which have reported though.
7:24 PM PT (David Nir): NJ-12 (D): The AP has called the race for Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman, who is currently beating state Sen. Linda Greenstein 50-25 with 83% of the vote counted. Watson Coleman will be the overwhelming favorite in November in this safely blue seat, left open by Rep. Rush Holt's retirement.
7:29 PM PT (David Nir): IA-Sen (R): We now have some real numbers here (11% reporting), and state Sen. Joni Ernst has jumped out to a huge 53-18 lead on radio host Sam Clovis.
7:31 PM PT (David Nir): IA-03 (R): They're counting much faster in the 3rd District than the rest of the state, where 42% of the vote has already been tallied. State Sen. Brad Zaun has a 33-23 lead on businessman Robert Cramer, which means he's in "convention territory."
7:34 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): We're at 74% reporting and Cochran's up 50-48, or about 1,500 votes above the runoff cutoff.
7:38 PM PT (David Jarman): MS-Sen: Rankin Co. is now halfway done (23 of 50) and it didn't really move the needle for McDaniel (McD leads now in Rankin, but only 50-49, so the statewide total is still 50 Cochran, 48 McD). Meanwhile, there are two counties that aren't precisely in the Delta (Warren Co., where Vicksburg is, and Tate Co.) but are Delta-esque, and none of their total 42 precincts have reported.
7:39 PM PT (David Nir): AL-06 (R): With 86% counted, it looks like former think tank president Gary Palmer will join state Rep. Paul DeMarco in the runoff. Palmer has 19% while state Sen. Scott Beason now trails with 16.
7:41 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): Hah, man, the number of lead changes tonight is just nuts. McDaniel's back on top 50-49, though below the runoff threshold.
7:45 PM PT (David Nir): MS-04 (R): Palazzo just jumped out to his biggest lead of the night, 50-43 over Taylor, and juuust over the runoff threshold.
7:46 PM PT (David Nir): MS-Sen (R): McDaniel's also just above the cutoff, with 50.5% of the vote and 81% reporting.
7:48 PM PT (David Nir): The liveblog continues here.
