There are many people here who have a good faith disagreement with the Obama administration's use of drone strikes, especially as a means of what amounts to personal assassination. At times, Senator Rand Paul has appeared to have joined in such criticism, and a few here have even suggested a libertarian/peace and justice coalition on drone strikes and other issues. Most, however, see through Senator Paul and reject such an alliance.
In any event, as Senator Paul sees the golden ticket of the Republican nomination for president in his gaze, he's finding his inner hawk:
There is a contingent on the left that agrees with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), his party and general worldview notwithstanding, because of his position on one important issue: the use of drone strikes as part of the U.S. national security policy.
It was the Obama administration’s use of drones, for example, that sparked Rand Paul’s 13-hour speech on the Senate floor last year.

With this in mind, it was interesting to see Rand Paul talk approvingly yesterday about … launching drone strikes.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) late Tuesday said if the United States discovered any of the released Guantanamo Bay prisoners were planning a terrorist attack, “there would be a drone with their name on it.”
On Fox News’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” Paul was asked if he advocates tracking them down and killing them if they plot against the U.S. “I would say that there would be a drone with their name on it,” replied Paul, who has been somewhat critical of portions of President Obama’s drone program.
Maddow Blog, Steve Benen, Rand Paul talks up possible drone strikes
In my view, Senator Rand Paul is a racist, classist pig. I don't trust this Ayn Rand loving, libertarian asshole. I get the feeling that Rand Paul's "principles" are about Rand Paul.
He ain't no ally of mine on anything.
