Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though. |
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. We're getting close to the membership cap, so we'll have to put you on a waiting list if you want to join. To get on the list, read this diary and visit the Guild web site. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome. |
More below the fold:
We'll just start with the raid reports, and the title will make itself clear.
Let's start off with the Team Z report from Tvath:
We're homing in on the biggest fight of the expansion, with just the Paragons to go before we tackle Garrosh himself. Fortunately, we have the benefit of the two other guild raid teams who have already defeated him! On their advice we are focusing on farming up better gear before we plunge in.
In other news, our rogue Sardric changed from a goblin to a panda! While short jokes may have been a factor, he also gains some additional abilities that may be useful. (I have to admit I am impressed by the research here, since I chose Tvath's race based on cuteness rather than any particular raiding ability. She, ahem, looks EXACTLY like I do in real life.)
But for now -- as they said in that cinematic classic "Starship Troopers": "To fight the bug, we must understand the bug."

Hey, I chose my DK's race for the extra silence/interrupt.
Next we have the Flexorama and Team Kaels report from Ninotchka:
The flexorama had another successful Garrosh kill this week. I almost didn’t make it in time for the raid, since my family decided to go out canoeing in the teeth of a thunderstorm, but they draggled in safely a couple minutes before raid time so I was able to go smash heads with a clear conscience. Next week we’re going to do something different. I’m dusting off my mage who has done almost nothing except farming and making gems this expansion, and I’m begging the regular flexorama team to carry me through the first wing. OK, I’m not completely ungeared, but I haven’t really played a mage since we were wiping on Al’Akir. So I’m going to see how the non-tank world works these days, and probably be very embarrassed about my dps numbers.
I am pleased to report that Team Kaels has notched another win into our collective belts by downing heroic Iron Juggernaut! Tay switched to his priest for this fight and we 4-healed it, so that we could get in close to the boss and keep dps’ing during Siege Mode. Heroic Iron Juggernaut has a very troubling boss ability – after 1 pull he causes a power outage in a random raid member’s neighborhood. Last week it was Chanta, this week it was Damselle. Luckily we were able to rope in Rockchalk as a substitute. Despite very little sleep and unfamiliarity with the heroic version of the fight, he was able to stay out of the bad stuff and help us to a comfortable almost-everyone-still-alive victory. We tried a few pulls on heroic Shamans, and despite my absolute terror of messing that fight up the rest of the group seems to think that it’s a winnable encounter. We got to 48% on our last pull of the evening, so I guess we’re proceeding nicely.
Somebody in Team Kaels is GETTING MARRIED!!!111!!!eleventy! so we will have a few light weeks coming up. So everyone congratulate Chanta and Goutfoot if you see them in game. Or online, or in real life, or in your head.

Congratulations to Chanta and Goutfoot, or whatever healthy, normal people say for that occasion. Many happy returns! Salutations! Fifty four forty or fight!
Here's Pamena with the Team RubiPam report:
Team RubiPam, still basking in the glow of finally killing Garrosh last week, has been relaxing for a few nights, running TOT and MSV (2nd and 1st tier raids of the expansion) with alts and some mains - Voban and Lynera did not join our team until Siege, so we're filling in their raid completion tab. Pamena's paladin alt Parsifale has been attempting to tank, along with Mage's tank Mainartin one night, and with Thanael and Xoff other nights, with sometimes hilariously inept results from my cute but clueless pally. Fortunately, we so overpower these earlier tiers that Parsi's preferred tanking "strategy" ("Just kill it before I wipe the raid, ok?") worked most of the time. It's been a good time for many of us to try out alts and to bring in some new folks while several on our regular team are out. Next week, however, Corwynn should be back, and we hope to try Norushen on heroic, to at least see how far we have to go to get heroic level done.
Major grats to Team Kaels now 6/14 heroic!!! You guys rock!

And we'll wrap it up with the Saturday Night Massacre report from Mageartin:
We split into two groups to go through Ulduar on 10 man to get some achieves and the meta [Glory of the Ulduar raider (10 player)]. Carune lead the charge in the second group and I led the first team. Thanael tanked for the first team during Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare which is the most time consuming of the achieves. A shoutout to Jantuk who 2 weeks ago tanked for all of us to get that same achieve on 25 player. A lot of guildies now have the Reins of the Rusted Proto-Drake and the Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake.
In two weeks we will venture into Trial of the Crusader for some of those achieves and then Trial of the Grand Crusader a couple of weeks after that.

That's all I have for this week.
For the Horde!
