The Dallas Morning News is reporting that Pete Sessions (R-TX) who currently serves as the Chariman of the House Rules Committee, has withdrawn as a candidate for the position as Majority Leader. "Sessions drops bid for majority leader"
I know Pete Sessions, and his ascension to Majority Leader was never going to happen. He is viewed as a reliable though dimwitted fountain of campaign cash for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). And he is GOP High-Born, being the son of Judge William Sessions, who served as the 4th Director of the FBI under Reagan and Bush (41), until he was dismissed by President Clinton (42).
It is too bad he didn't get the Majority Leader post because he is about as endearing as a snapping turtle to anyone other than the GOP troglodytes in his North Texas district.
The unknown for me is Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)
