When somebody on the Right makes personal, groundless, ignorant accusations during an argument, do you ever just say: "Fine. I'm a socialist. I want to destroy the country. Whatever. Now. Let's argue about pay disparity?"
You're not a socialist, of course. You're not advocating for the social ownership of means of production or management, are you? Except maybe the Military? The interstates? Maybe healthcare?
You're safe. You're not really a socialist because you know you should get paid more because you are worth more than the idiot at the next desk. On the other hand, there is no way the CEO is worth 1,000 times more than you or your idiot co-worker.
So you are not really a socialist. You're may be a so-so socialist. Be one step ahead of the game. Lay claim to a Socalled Socialist title.
Revel in its superiority. Embrace it and face facts. Our side made Hope, Change and a level playing field a viable brand.
We are better than the other side. We dream.
Dream of a United States where rich people and corporations pay a hell of a lot more taxes.
Dream of a United States where there is free health care for everybody.
Dream of a United States where assholes stop picking on the Mexicans.
Dream of a United States where Social Security is no longer diverted. And is instead propped up well into the future to care for people too old or sick to work.
Dream of a United States where government regulations and oversight are enforced.
Dream of a United States where corporations and organizations are no longer allowed to contribute to political campaigns and all political advertising is banned.
Dream of a United States where people stop popping off so many fucking kids.
Dream of a United States that convincingly punishes those who profit from ruining the environment then takes steps to further prohibit destruction.
Dream of a United States where people shut the hell up about their religion.
Socalled Socialists bear witness to the failure of the free market fantasy.
Socalled Socialists know it was a LACK of government regulation, oversight and enforcement that lead to the Great Recession.
Socalled Socialists know that the current state of Capitalism is an economic and moral failure. It’s disintegration continues throughout the United States and the world.
This is said without joy. Socalled Socialists do not want to replace rich people or see them broken or poor. There is nothing wrong with being rich. But there is something to be said about being reasonable. Breaking the backs of the many for grotesque profits for a few is wrong. It is not okay to throw people into poverty just because it’s legal.
