We've been drifting along with him just getting better and better, and suddenly we got a timeline from physical therapy: they think they can have him ready to go home at the end of next week, the 11th of July.
Holy shit, I got work to do.
So far I haven't yet got the check from GoFundMe that will get the power and water turned on. I'm going to go home tomorrow, though, and see about that and a few other things.
Once I get the power on, I've got a lot of cleaning to do, very fast, because I have to finish the kitchen so kitchen stuff can go in it, move all the stuff that belongs to the kitchen into it, and then put the stuff that goes in the places that the kitchen stuff was.
Also, seriously dejunk the living room and the front bedroom/office so that he can get into it with a walker.
And, of course, general cleaning of everything to deal with cat hair tumbleweeds, and such issues.
I am going to be VERY busy next week.
The upcoming issue is going to be how to get him clean. We normally, under "no gas on" circumstances, heat a few gallons of water in a turkey roaster, and mix that with cold to a decent temperature in a large cooler. These six to seven gallons make for a rather luxurious sponge bath, as one can dump enough water over one's head to feel really clean. It will just be more difficult to work it for Bear with him debilitated. But I think we can work it out. If need be I'll tote him out to mom's, since she has a stall shower, once or twice a week.
But he's coming HOME. I am so glad. Home. It's a beautiful thought.
