Sometimes kogs ask me if 7:00 a.m. is too early for political popcorn fests? No! not at all! Get some out right away to enjoy this tasty morsel.
Maggie Haberman of Politico recounts the story of Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino's latest attack on Governors Chris Christie and Andrew Cuomo - when he asks if they are in cohoots on Bridgegate issues, in Rob Astorino to Chris Christie: ‘Consider stepping down’ from RGA. Astorino is steamed about Governor Christie's defense of why the RPG is not investing in Astorino's challenge to Governor Cuomo by saying "doesn’t invest in “landslides” or “lost causes.”
Astorino retorted that if Christie “is unable to help a Republican candidate for governor, then maybe he should consider stepping down as chairman of the RGA. That’s his job.”
...“Maybe it’s inconvenient to come over the bridge to New York to help a Republican candidate for governor here. That’s his call, whether he wants to or not, but as RGA chair he has governors and candidates who have a chance to win … and it’s incumbent upon him to help all of us.”
“I don’t know if there’s a connection between him and Andrew Cuomo on Bridgegate, or if Cuomo has something that he’s holding back, information that could be damaging to the governor,” Astorino said.
“Whatever Gov. Christie knew or didn’t know is probably the same for Gov. Cuomo. And if there’s anything being held back that Gov. Cuomo knows and if he’s holding that over Gov. Christie’s head, I don’t know,” Astorino added.
Only time will tell if this gambit will help Astorino overcome his 40% deficit in poll against Cuomo. If he can help make Andrew Cuomo's road to the White House a little bumpier, it is fine with me. If for some reason Hillary Clinton chooses not to run, Cuomo could be one of our primary candidates. Gak!
Sometimes life offers us sweet little moments even while troubles rage.
Even William Kristol picked up this torch, writing in an email “Christie is head of the RGA. He’s supposed to support Republican gubernatorial candidates. And Astorino is an impressive one.”
How lovely is the smell of burning Republican elephant blubber early in the morning.
Oh, another common question from morally elevated kogs, is "is it wrong that I'm smiling?"
Heck no. That's part of the consolation prize of having to have Republicans. Even God has a sense of humor. (Please see definition of Christieschadenfreude below.)
Have a great day. And, please check back later because I have a feeling that today will be an interesting day.
Just because I can!
Good Day Sunshine

ChristieSchadenfreude (ˈʃɑːdənfrɔɪdə; German: [ˈʃaːdənˌfʁɔʏdə] ( listen)) is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie or other sociopath Republican political leaders - especially those that are potential candidates for President.[1] This word is taken from German and literally means 'Christie-Harm-Joy'. It is the feeling of joy or pleasure when one sees another fail or suffer misfortune. It is also borrowed by some other languages.
