For those of us in need of some comic relief, Sarah Palin delivers an excellent Tina- Fey-parody.
In some ways, watching Palin at the Western Conservative Summit, in Colorado, is excruciating. But in more ways, it's pretty damn amusing. That is, if you can make it through Dan 'All Racists Must Be Atheists' Caplis's intro of Palin. He says:
"It is a privilege to be in the same room as Governor Sarah Palin. Stop and think about it for a second. Governor Palin is the most influential woman in the history of the Republican party." (Okay, if you say so.)
And then Caplis steps in deeper:
"And she remains one of the most influential political figures of the 21st century." (Now, Sir - I do protest!)
The talk show host adds more jibber jabber about how Ted Cruz wouldn't be where he is today, had it not been for the endorsement of Sarah Palin. (The jury's out on that one. Evil and ignorance have a way of finding their own way through. Ted Cruz 'built that'.)
And so, finally, Palin walks up to the podium, and begins verbally tripping all over herself. She slurs, mumbles, laboriously waves her arms, pinches her words, and sometimes struggles to get from one syllable to another. It's fun.
She mentions how Obama is the reason for all wrongs, everywhere, always, and forever. (The woman can lie!) And yes, of course, she mentions the B-word. But in this speech, it's not really what she says, it's how she says it.
Here is the full speech, which is approximately 30 minutes.
Liars & Crooks offers a shortened 9-minute version of the speech.
I never thought I'd willingly sit through another Palin rant, especially after the NRA Convention in Houston where she gave instructions on how to baptize a terrorist. That was in the Spring. This is now. But this is different. It's like studying a rare species… My head tilted, my eyebrows lifted. I couldn't quite make out what it is - or was.
There's talk that Palin will be running for President in 2016. Please do, Sarah. We'd like to keep a Democrats in the White House.
