Asheville's second Mountain Moral Monday protest was yesterday and it was inspiring to say the least. The Reverend Barber delivered a beauty of a speech that kept most people on their feet the whole time. Kossacks from far and wide met up for the event with a few of us meeting ahead of time and a few of us meeting at the rally. It was great seeing you all. We had a wonderful surprise visit by TexDem too! Adding his smile to great weather and great community was something special.
I got to meet Bill Press and was pretty excited. Asheville's progressive talk station's Jeff Messer and Bill Press co-hosted Jeff's live radio show from the event. 880's pop up studio was right next to the stage and they did the broadcast live through the whole thing even though they normally switch to another feed at 6:00.
Bill spoke highly of Daily Kos and Markos and said "Oh yeah, I read it everyday." We talked for a minute or so before the event and had a photo taken with him and Jeff afterwards on our way out.
All in all a fine time was had by all. I would say more but want to get these photos up. Congratulations to Kossack DawnN for being part of the Green Grannies singers who were up on stage to close the rally.
