NY Times today:
[Christie] said Mr. Putin had taken the measure of Mr. Obama. “I don’t believe, given who I am, that he would make the same judgment,” Mr. Christie said. “Let’s leave it at that.”
Of course! Putin would have not dared take over Crimea and threaten East Ukraine if the President was the guy who yelled at school teachers.
This made me wonder -- Wouldn't Christie's brash, bullying (but cute) personality solve a lot of other problems, like volcanoes:
Given who I am, Bárðarbunga would not dare erupt.
Given who I am, ISIS would lay down its arms.
Given who I am, child refugees would turn around and go back to Guatemala.
Given who I am, corporations would not dare invert (unless I said it was OK, which I probably would)
It also made me wonder how the other GOP candidates would deal with Bárðarbunga:
Bobby Jindal: Can you imagine spending anything on monitoring Bárðarbunga?
Rick Perry: Let's see -- there's Haleakala, there's Bárðarbunga and . . . can't remember the other.
Rand Paul: We need to boldly go
where no Republicans have gone before -- volcano craters.
