They get raped by their "brothers", then the military kicks them out by diagnosing them with "personality disorders" which are pre-existing so they can't get help from the VA or other mental illness that makes getting a job nearly impossible.
Yeah, we love our troops alright.

2:55 PM PT: I was asked to add a synopsis to this diary but honestly, what I wrote IS a synopsis. I don't want to add anything to that other than that it is estimated that 38 men in our military are raped EVERY DAY and until Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, you could be discharged for being a VICTIM. I won't add more because the article has the details of the stories of several men who were assaulted while in the military and many, many brief comments by other men, often with their name and dates of service and I won't lessen any one of them by selecting from them - they should all be read. It is extremely moving, horrifying and heartbreaking. The plight of female victims is awful and while a higher percentage of women are raped, there are more male victims in total. How we could have a national discussion about rape in the military and NOT address this is mind-boggling. It MUST be outside of the chain of command. It MUST.
