I often devote a diary to the writing of another person because I think it worthy of the attention of this community. In doing so, to entice the reader I offer quotes.
Only once before have I done so without quoting a single word from the piece to which I want to direct the reader.
Today I will
The work will be words of someone to whose columns I often point people - Charles M. Blow of The New York Times.
And just in case the piece at which I point you is not featured in the pundit roundup, I will ask that after you read the remarkable piece to which I point you, you consider recommending this diary so that others will be so directed.
On Tuesday a remarkable memoir will officially be published. It is titled Fire Shut Up in My Bones and the early reviews have been spectacular.
The column I want you to read is titled Up From Pain and candidly discusses his own wrestlings with bisexuality and more.
It is powerful.
It is superbly written.
It will almost certainly make you want to read the book from which it is taken.
I ask that you follow this link and read. It is longer than the normal column. It is worth the read.
That is the most important favor I ask.
Then if you agree with me, share your reaction in the comment thread, and maybe help promote the column.
As an admirer of superb writing, I would be most appreciative.
Peace.
