Breaking news from the FFRF. (Freedom from Religion Foundation) CBS decides to act like a moronic organization, not a national broadcaster for all the people.
Here are words deemed too offensive by CBS, to be spoken by Ron Reagan:
Hi, I'm Ron Reagan, an unabashed atheist, and I’m alarmed by the intrusion of religion into our secular government. That’s why I’m asking you to support the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the nation's largest and most effective association of atheists and agnostics, working to keep state and church separate, just like our Founding Fathers intended. Please support the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Ron Reagan, lifelong atheist, not afraid of burning in hell.
A CBS talking head admitted that the ad was rejected “for words and tone.”
Considering how CBS deals with erectile dysfunction, women's hygiene products, Viagra, it is a shock that they found these words to be unacceptable for broadcast.
Actually, I am rather pleased that CBS acted to foolishly. It will raise their ineffably stupid behavior in the public eye far more readily and to a greater extent than simply showing a short 30 second ad mashed in-between a beer and a car ad.
