Good Morning Kossacks and Welcome to Morning Open Thread (MOT)
We're known as the MOTley Crew and you can find us here every morning at 7:00 am Eastern (and sometimes earlier!). Feel free to volunteer to take a day - permanently or just once in awhile. With the Auto Publish feature you can set it and forget it. Sometimes the diarist du jour shows up much later: that's the beauty of Open Thread...it carries on without you! Volunteer in the comment threads.

Morning all, and greetings from Fuschl in Salzburger land - the location for the Sound of Music.
Taking a leaf out of exlrrp's book - today is ecelectic music.
The first is a clip from one of my favorite movies Brassed Off, which is based on a true story of a colliery band competing for UK band of the year at the same time as the Coal Board were shutting their pit. It stars some top UK actors including the late Pete Posthelthwaite, Tara Fitzgerald, Sue Johnstone and the Butler from Downton Abbey.
Here is Tara Fitzgerald playing (or at least pretending to play) concierto d'Aranjuez.
.
The second clip is from the finals of the 1985 Band of the year, and is the Grimethorpe's Band winning performance.
