The US Court Of Appeals For The Tenth Circuit has issued its mandates and lifted the stays in the Utah and Oklahoma marriage equality cases. Marriage equality is now the law of the land throughout that circuit. And, it is now official that Utah and Oklahoma are marriage equality states.
In addition, AG Mark Herring of Virginia has tweeted that the Fourth Circuit will issue its mandate at 1PM today, and same-sex couples in Virginia will be able to get married then. Update: And, now they have.
Per earlier orders issued by the Seventh Circuit, the stays in the marriage equality cases from Wisconsin and Indiana were to automatically be lifted if SCOTUS denied cert. And, indeed, some counties in those states are already issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Colorado's AG has also tweeted that marriage equality will be legal in Colorado as soon as legal formalities have been taken care of.
Law professor Ari Ezra Waldman has an analysis of what today's SCOTUS denial of cert. in the marriage equality cases means at towleroad. You can read that here.
Another Update:
Missouri state officials will not appeal the recent marriage equality ruling in that state. It means that Missouri will now recognize legal out of state marriages of same-sex couples.
