Located right next to the LA Coliseum sports stadium, the LA County Museum of Natural History is a very nice little museum. Yes, it has dinosaurs, lots of dinosaurs--but despite its name it also has exhibits on all of California's history, from the Gold Rush days to the modern era of Hollywood. I spent an enjoyable afternoon here (and I had already spent an enjoyable morning in the California Science Center, which is at the other end of the block).
