A as in Alpha, B as in Bravo, C as in Charlie, blah blah blah. BORING! Today at work I was spelling out something on the phone (an email address) and my brain suddenly thought of "Z as in Zoroastrian." It seemed like a good idea at the time. Maybe it was the coffee and the energy drink in my brain.
I'm tired of the usual words. So here's my suggestion of religious words to replace alpha, bravo, charlie, etc.:
I was thinking that C could be Catholic and L could be Lutheran. Then I thought it would be fun to have many syllables for each letter on the list. So I wanted long words. As you will see, I couldn't come up with a good V or X.
Perhaps we should all start using these phonetic abbreviations...
A as in Albigensian
B as in Buddhist
C as in Catholic
D as in Dervish
E as in Evangelical
F as in Freemason
G as in Gnostic
H as in Heretic
I as in Iconoclast
J as in Jehovah's Witness
K as in Knight of Malta
L as in Lutheran
M as in Muslim
N as in Neo-Platonist
O as in Orthodox Jew
P as in Primitive Baptist
Q as in Quaker
R as in Rastafarian
S as in Satanist
T as in Talmudic Scholar
U as in Unbeliever
V as in Vegetarian
W as in Witch Doctor
X as in Xavier that Monk Guy
Y as in Yaqui wizard
Z as in Zoroastrian
So if your email is Tess@Something.com, you could say T as in Talmudic Scholar, E as in Evangelical, S as in Satanist, S as in Satanist.
Do you think this will catch on? I certainly hope so.
if you have any suggestions to improve the list (L as in Latter Day Saint, which has one more syllable than Lutheran), let me know.
