We can't match the Kochs' millions, but we can still dominate the internet.
And, even with all the Republican, Fox, Koch round-the-clock negative branding of the Democratic Party--ISIS, Ebola, Obamacare (oh, it's working? never mind), vote fraud, immigrants, because freedom, and taxes--(and the predictably, inevitably, non-existent Democratic negative branding of the Republicans), the election, will still come down to who the electorate thinks will most help their finances. How can we help them decide?
Democrats Grow 3X the Jobs Republicans Do.
Especially, since Democrats, are still remarkably better for the economy, for the working class and particularly for jobs?
So how do we make that argument, (or the other compelling arguments for Democrats), in a way that sticks with our friends, with Foxified rural America and with the folks who only pay attention to politics for about one week every two years? As shown above, I think environmental economist Steve Stoft over at www.ZFacts.com has put together a powerful, simple, undeniable chart, (as well as many other incredibly well conceived charts showing Democratic superiority), that makes this unendingly clear.
There are also many other Democrats and DKos members who've worked this year to make similarly powerful arguments. Since it is now crush time, why don't we decide which visually iconic chart or meme we most prefer, and then use our group internet clout to make sure that, before election day, tens of millions of voters see that one most powerful meme?
Because, with hundreds of thousands of DKos members, if we decide to direct a message though Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc., we can do it and make sure that most every voter will see that information.
So I propose a contest. Let's submit our favorite mimetic images, charts, or graphs and then vote on our favorite. Once we've decided, then let's ask everyone in the community to send it out through all their social media outlets and see if we can move the conversation of the voting public in the direction of accuracy and sanity before Tuesday.
More below the fold.
I have three more entries that I like particularly. After that it's up to you. For your submissions, include them in the comments and other members may vote for them by rec'cing your comment.
Winner takes all. And then we'll see if we can get the DKos powers that be to push the widest broadcast of a single meme before the election on Tuesday.
Here are my other three submissions:
58 Million Jobs
The private-sector job creation for most recent 36.25 years of each party's rule produces a remarkable difference: During that time Democrats have created 58 Million Jobs, and Republicans have created 25.5 Million Jobs.
Vastly Better Democratic GDP Growth
The good folks over at
www.PoliticsthatWork.com offer many charts about Democratic successes, including this one that delineates GDP growth during times when Democrats have controlled both the presidency and both house of Congress, or when control is mixed or when Republicans control both the presidency and both houses. The results are very different: Democrats produce 5.2% GDP Growth when they control the presidency and both houses. Mixed control produces 2.9% growth. All GOP control produces negative growth, (-.8%).
Finally, I like Jim Oleske's post on DKos and on Tumblr that there have been 10 million jobs created since Obamacare became law. So much for its job crushing effects.
Now it's up to you. Submit your favorites in the comments section, and let's vote, then, whichever one wins, let's work together to get it huge distribution.
