THE BERKELEY POST OFFICE IS IN IMMINENT DANGER OF BEING SOLD!
After a moratorium of sorts on the sale of historic Post Offices for almost a year…
- The Bronx Post Office was sold in September, 2014
- The Somerville, MA Post Office was sold in early October
- The Richmond, VA Post Office was put up for sale
- On 10/24/14 the USPS said the Berkeley Post Office is “under contract” to be sold.
Barbara Lee and other elected officials, Peter Byrne, author of "Going Postal," and representatives from the APWU, Living New Deal, The National Post Office Collaborate, and Save the Berkeley Post Office will be speaking this morning. Music with Redd Welsh and Hali Hammer.
Barbara Lee is on a tight schedule and I am informed that she will speak at 11:00 AM sharp, no delays.
Come find out the latest and what you can do to continue the struggle, support the lawsuit and demand that the sale be halted.
RALLY AND ACTION BEGINNING 10:30 AM, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, 2000 ALLSTON WAY, DOWNTOWN BERKELEY POST OFFICE. CONTINUING THROUGH THE DAY.
