First off, let me take the time to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving to you and those you care about.
Thanksgiving has long been my favorite holiday, with its food, smells, football games.... and it is short enough to see family for a bit, but not long enough to get sick of them way overboard.
I've been lucky that I have a lot of friend's in the area that sort of "adopted" me for the holiday after my parents passed away.
My best friend Paul and his partner now live in Omaha, and it became a yearly (well for the last two years) tradition for me to go out and visit him. I had been all set to do so again this year, had tickets in hand but then I got broad-sided by an illness.
Long story short I had to cancel my trip at the last minute (I was to fly out tomorrow) for fear of not being completely over the latest round of being ill. I am lucky enough though to have friends in the area who have invited me to go with them to their parents house (Which I did the first few years after my parents passed away actually) and it got to the point when their mom/dad ask each year if I am coming and they hope I do... so its a nice enough option to have, friends are wonderful people.
Anyways enough about my life and plans, hoe about you? Do you plan to be with friends? family? alone? watching tv? football? do you not celebrate the holiday for any number of reasons?
Again I hope everyone has a good time, and if you have any left over stuffing, please feel free to mail it to me.... I am sure I can put it to good use. :)
