Because I'm not seeing it. In 2013 it was the Boston Marathon bombings. In 2014, we had the attack on the Canadian Parliament. Now cartoonists (!) are murdered in France.
O brave new world that has such creatures in it.
Did we not torture enough? Were our methods off? (Perhaps we should have just
beat, beat, and beat again. Maybe we should have turned the U.S. Coast Guard training ship into a
floating torture chamber? Perhaps Alan Dershowitz,
torture advocate and alleged lawyer, should have been put in charge.
Most of all, I wonder if we got our money's worth of torture, $81 million, to be precise, from those quacks we hired. Seems to me like we could buy a whole lot of car batteries, jumper cables, and ball peen hammers for that kind of dough. Plus, we'd have enough left over to lease the Rose Bowl and convert into a one stop jail/torture/execution center.
Torture works, you see, and we need to do it again in a minute. We just need to turn loose the American know-how, and get this torture business away from pointy-headed dorks like John Yoo and "Judge" Jay Bybee. Put it on an assembly-line basis, with some sound free legal advice to our customers:
Don't fight it son. Confess quickly! If you hold out too long you could jeopardize your credit rating.
And if there are those with some misgivings about this
brave new world of torture, just say a prayer to Our Ford, and take a Soma -- because a gram is better than a damn.
