Charlie Hebdo print run goes to 5 million
Despite an initial planned print run of up to 3m copies, including versions in six different languages, many struggled to get hold of the first copies of a magazine that usually has a circulation of only 60,000.
The Guardian’s Anne Penketh said her local newsagent in Paris was so inundated with customers wanting copies of Charlie Hebdo that he hid them and only sold copies to regulars.
I will not be buying a copy, I sent a small donation to the paper to help them rebuild their business. Do I agree with all their points of view, no, do I agree with their right to say it, yes.
If you want to fight sexism, racism and extremism you do it with words. If you want to stop radicalization, you go to the root causes and deal with those first.
This is why I was against forced political change and military intervention by "our" governments around the world.

I am tired of history being ignored and our direct role in the rise of extremists groups. When your force your own ideals on others you can only logically expect one reaction. There is no point expecting a different result by doing more of the same.

When we actually stop declaring a war on something or other, it will be a good start. War has a particular meaning and it usually ends with a body count.
If you want to stop groups like GIA, Khymer Rouge, Al Qaeda, ISIS and Boko Haram existing in the first place then you have to stop creating the conditions that promote their existence. Understanding the reasons are important in finding a way of avoiding creating ever more violent groups in the future.
Having created extremist groups we are in danger of having "counter" extremists gain power at home, it's a vicious cycle.
