Well entry number 2 will hopefully show I have learned a few lessons from the nice people who decided to spend a few minutes reading and felt the need to comment and welcome me.
I have always loved the site. Been reading the great articles on here for what seems like forever. Just have to get used to things as I dip my toes into the water.
I must say I was expecting much more criticism for my first effort. A visit from the grammar and spelling police and few clubs to the head from the usual trolls was what I had been expecting and so I was surprised at the polite criticism and great tips from all. Must have been a holiday for the trolls.
Now I must say that thanks to a couple of suggestions I am working on a new name for that orange squiggly thingy. This will be the last reference to it as that as I try out new names. So let us take the plunge and jump on down past it and see how I do for a second effort.
Now that you know a bit about me let me introduce you to my slightly warped brain. Most days are spent in two states. Working and laying down. Wow seeing it in writing makes me sound a bit lazy. I have a decent job. It could be better as most jobs can but could be wore as well. So I am happy to have it especially with the job market what it is.
I am up way before dawn, usually about 2 am. So I haunt the internet, watching a bit of this and that to catch up on news and start my day. Sometime I go on a rant on a FB post that I see. I'm pretty sure a lot of you have done the same. So between 2 and 6 am I am clicking my way around the web.
From 6 am on I am working. I have a very difficult commute most days having to avoid my loving fur babies sprawled upon the floor. Once in a while I get Kyra sprawled in front of my work computer and have to get her to move. That can take a bit since she is older and likes to just sleep. A good belly rub will get her moving most days but sometimes that doesn't work. Work lasts until 2 or longer depending if we have OT or not. At the moment we do so there are times when I can be found working until 5 or even later.
Working from home does have it's wonderful advantages. I can lay down on breaks. Giving my back a rest. Having 8 rods and screws in my lower back means that sitting can be painful. What is even worse is the fact that while I am a large guy I have no padding on my backside. I like to joke that growing up in the Chicago area has caused it to freeze off. Well with no natural padding it can be painful to sit for any length of time. I use two pillows to give it a bit of padding. That allows me to make it a bit longer between breaks. Well that and my pain meds. Though they sure don't seem to work a well as they have in the past.
After working for a good chunk of the day I move my lightly padded butt to the most comfortable place in the house, my bedroom. Just the act of laying down brings relief from the pain. I usually will read for a while until dinner or in some cases I will end up passing out. Speaking of reading, my loving wife and I are huge book lovers. There are many days when the TV does not get turned on at all. Makes me wonder why I am paying that cable bill every month when the TV is used less than ten hours per month except in basketball season. More on that later. Our book collection is huge. We have more book in boxes due to no room than most people have in their houses. We love Half Price Books and Amazon.
Now back to basketball season. My wife is much more of a fan than I. She has grown up here in Kentucky and is a huge fan of UK basketball. She can give most guys a run for their money on stats for the team. She loves watching the game and we had to make a rule that she watch in another room as she can get quite loud and because she says I jinx the team when we watch together. She really love the college game and UK.
So to end my second entry into my time here I will close by saying this. These first two diaries are just a sneak peek into my life and maybe into my brain. I have learned from the comments so far and will work on becoming better. Maybe this time I will find a few trolls in my comment stream but I do hope not. I really enjoyed the great comments from everyone. I have to go now and take a look at the pootie woozil and birdies group.
